I remember back, back to the early 80's, when the Atari 2600 was the top system around.
I had an Atari back then (and I still have it today) and some of my favorite games where
Pitfall, Megamania, Seaquest, Hero, River Raid and Enduro.
There's only two games on this Cd that I never owned. (now I really feel old)
Well I feel like I returned to the 80's thanks to Activision Classics, 30 of your favorite Atari 2600 classics are all on one CD. (and at most places under $30)
It includes: Atlantis, Barnstorming, Boxing, Chopper Command, Cosmic Commuter, Crackpots, Dolphin, Dragster, Enduro, Fishing Derby, Freeway, Frostbite, Grand Prix, H.E.R.O., Ice Hockey, Kaboom!, Keystone Kapers, Laser Blast, MagaMania, Pitfall, Plaque Attack, River Raid, River Raid 2, Seaquest, Skiing, Spider Fighter, Stampede, Star Master and Tennis.
Okay, Compared to now a days these look like crap.
But that's not the point, it's for remembering a time when graphics weren't the big deal.
When game were just for fun, and getting the biggest high score.
The sound on these game blips, beeps and whistles and some time can be annoying, but so were the originals (I guess I'm spoiled by all the new stuff) and I wouldn't want them to have changed it.
This is a game I only recommend to people who have played the old Atari games and want to relive those games again without buying an old Atari 2600 and hunt down 30 games at garage sales.
For all you new gamer's who are big on a games eye candy, you might want to pass on this one.
My only wish Pitfall 2 was on this CD, darn it....That was MY favorite Activision game!
For only around $30 (that's $1 a game) you get all the classics and maybe a trip back in time.
