You play as Spike and he has help to stop the monkeys from going bananas (sorry)
A Professor builds you some crazy gadgets to help you catch the monkeys; a stun club, monkey radar, sling shot, hula hoop, sky flyer, RC Car plus many more.
The graphics are well done but kinda bland. It almost has the cartoon look of Mega Man Legends.
The control is well done but the camera controls can have some problems.
but with some time even a trained monkey can get the control down. (there I go again)
This game REQUIRES a Dual analog pad, there's no getting around that.
It also uses the Analog buttons L3 & R3 for the first time in a game.
So if you don't have a Dual Shock or a Dual Analog there will be no monkeying around for you. (Dang puns)
There's tons of hidden monkeys to find in this game, and some require special gadgets before you can catch that ape.
There are plenty of puzzles to solve in your quest for the monkeys so you'll be playing levels over and over again to find all your monkeys. This game may sound silly but it's a lot of fun, You can say it's more fun than a barrel of monkeys. (Sorry I'll try and stop)
If you like games like Spyro, Gex or Crash Banicoot you should give Ape Escape a try and then.....
