Arctic Thunder, the great arcade snow mobile racer has come to the Xbox. Sure, its been on the PlayStation 2 for a while now, but what if you never bought a PlayStation 2 because you were waiting for the Xbox to come out, and when it did you waited in line for twelve hours only to find out the stores had plenty of them and you wasted the whole day sitting in the electronics department of the local Wal-Mart looking like a complete loser.
But its all okay now. You have an Xbox and gosh darn it, it is prety cool.
And now you get to play Arctic Thunder on it. The Xbox version of Arctic Thunder is the exact same game as the PS2 edition with two exceptions. The Xbox is faster and features even higher rez graphics.

Keep in mind Arctic Thunder was a fast game to begin with. If I had one complaint, and I don't, it would be that its too fast. The game is basically chaos with a finish line.
Arctic Thunder's snow mobiles come fully equipped with rocket launchers and jet packs for a truly outrageous race.
Think Sled Storm on acid. All you really have to do is keep your finger on the gas button, fire as many rockets at your opponents as you can muster, and hold your breath. You're bound to come in at least fourth place. Hell, you could play this game with your eyes closed and pull out a fourth place spot easy.
Its easy, so what. The images that flash past you are awesome. The game is truly incredible if you ask me. I like racing games, but I love fast racing games.
There's nothing worse then a racing game that tells you you're doing eighty, but it looks like twenty. I don't think so.

Arctic Thunder is extreme in every sense of the word. Is it realistic? Heck no! I can't remember the last time I saw a gorilla riding a smow mobile, let alone in a race.
Once again, who cares. The game is fun. It was an arcade.
An arcade game is designed to deliver outrageous fun and swallow quarters.
Arctic Thunder does both very well. I'm just glad I played it on PS2 and Xbox, otherwise I may have had to take out a loan to pay off my debt to the local arcade.

Arctic Thunder is the most fun I've had in a racing game since Rumble Racing.
Is it the best racing game ever, hell no, not even close.
But it will make you wanna play again and again and again.
I highly recommend it if you enjoy great graphics, outrageous combative racing, and don't mind a little chaos on the race track.
If you have already played the PS2 version and now have a Xbox, I recommend renting this version, but it’s probably not worth buying again for you.
