The original ATV Off Road Fury was only an okay game in the first place. It was a game in a
series of fads to appeal to the ‘Extreme’ sports craze. I think the only reason Sony had a sequel is
to have something simple and basic to launch their online system. So, given that and the fact it
soon was bundled with the PS2 online system holiday pack from 2002. It was a monster hit.
I mean, a back then there was only like 2 or 3 PS2 games that were online compatible. Now 1 in 5
games it seems features some sort of online play. Its huge.

So that brings us to this years ATV Off Road Fury 3, which is online! BIG DEAL. Who cares,
right? Not so fast. Check this out. Sony actually redid the game entirely. My biggest beef over the
last 2 games was the view. Sure, it was changeable, but there wasn’t a single view that was
satisfying. The standard was at an angle. I never understood it. The other views were first person
or too dang close for comfort.
ATV 3 FINALLY has changed that. Default view is from behind. You know, like MOST racing
games. And guess what? It plays a TON better. It feels like a whole new game. Seriously, it does.
And YES it’s a good thing. I enjoyed playing this one SO much better then the previous titles.

And of course its still online, which I do recommend. It’s a blast to play with some friends. Hook
it up, line it in, and take it for a spin. He control is right on, the graphics are pretty sharp. Nothing
to write home about, but not neglected either. ATV 3 features all the standards. Racing, tricks,
supercross, outdoors, and freestyle. Numerous ATV’s and riders to select from along with
custom players. And is all set to a punk rock sound track. Yawn. But whatever, its still a fun
game to play. Just nothing extraordinary. However MUCH better than ATV Off Road 2. So I’d
say without a doubt this is the Best ATV game on the PlayStation 2. Yes, that’s a quote.
