The first ATV racing agme of its kind was on the PSone a few years back. It was called ATV Quad Power Racing.
It was an okay racing game, that didn't take much notice.
Now that ATV games are starting to spread like wild fire, heck there's even a budget ten dollar one coming out, Acclaim is back with the follow up.
This time it's on the Playstation 2. Much like the original, I don't think this is a game that takes full advantage of the current technology.
ATV Quad Power Racing 2 is not a game trying to be the best. It just wants you to have a good time, and at that it succeeds.

ATV PQR2 features all the standards a racer has. Multiple "wild" characters, multiple vehicles, with only three to start with, and multiple levels with a ton more to unlock. However, you'll probably get board with the game before you can ever open anything.
So you'll either necer play them all or resort to cheating. Keep checking the Codes section for all the latest cheats! ;)
The best thing Acclaim did to try and make this game different from the competition is copying on the greatest motorbike racing games ever.
You can punch and kick your way to first place, much like in Road Rash. Okay, its not quite as fun as the Rash, but it gives it an edge.
Of course it wouldn't be an "extreme" sports game if it didn't feature stunts, tricks, and escapades.
Of course tricks are a little limited on an ATV, but its accomplishable. This game doesn't over exploit the whole tricks and stunts thing.

Graphically ATV Power Quad Racing 2 offers enough to keep us happy, but is afraid to give us an overdose.
The one thing ATV Power Quad Racing 2 does better than ATV Off-Road Fury 2 is the view.
Quad Racing offers a selection of POV's that Off-Road Fury does not. I didn't like that about Fury 1 and still don't like it about 2.
Power Quad plays great. The conrtol is right on. The game is musically challenged though. In the end, you must remember. ATV Quad Power Racing 2 is only 29.99 SRP, so for the price, you cannot go wrong.
If you enjoy racing, extreme sports titles, or just need a new game. ATV provides the minimal dosage of entertainment recommended to successfully pass time.
