NBA BASKETBALL 2000

by Wyatt "JOEDOG" Elliott

NBA Basketball 2000 from Fox Sports is yet another attempt to take the crown away from EA Sports to be the best NBA game for Playstation. Unfortunately this NBA game is plagued with choppy graphics and bogged down by lousy control.

However, Fox Sports' presentation is one of the best in the field. They mimic the Fox Sports Net broadcasts to a tee. Clever replay displays and awesome sounding announcers with colorful commentary. NBA facts, plays, and wise cracks are all delivered here just as a real sports broadcast.

Graphically, NBA Basketball 2000 falls into mediocre land. Better than anything Konami's ever put out, but they lack the detail, and sharpness 989 Sports adds to its games.

The worst part of this whole gaming experience is the horrible control. Control is the number one thing that ruins games. A game could be perfect, but if the controls bad, you won't want to play it.
These NBA players perform extremely slow. Holding down the "run" button does nothing for them. This causes much frustration.
Pounding on the buttons doesn't help, yelling at the TV doesn't help, throwing the controller down and turning it off is the only relief.
These are the kind of games that cause acts of violence, not Doom.
NBA Basketball 2000 shines with its presentation in an otherwise dreadful game.
