I want everyone to know that you can't judge a book by its cover, its name, or even its publisher.
Majesto is not known for its hot titles. It's a small company, therefore its assumed the games they make are small too.
I was guilty of this. I saw Majesto's Blood Rayne and thought. Eh, its probably an okay beat'em up game. Or perhaps a Blood Omen wanna be. As luck would have it, I got this game and I wasn't anxious to try it, but I did.
And I haven't stopped playing it yet.
Blood Rayne is AWESOME!

Let me give you some back story real quick. I love Blade. You know, the movie with Wesley Snipes.
I love both movies in fact. I am also one of the few who actually enjoyed the two Blade games for PSone and PS2.
I know they're flawed, but I can't help but like them.
However, now that I've played Blood Rayne, (which is pretty much the same premise as Blade by the way.). I'm gonna have to rethink my opinion on those games.
Blood Rayne starts out kinda average. You play Rayne.
A half Vampire who is destined to destroy all vampires in the early 1940's. As I said, the first level is average. Rayne runs around destroying monsters and zombies. (Why does every game use zombies since the RE series?)
But its not til the second level that the game really kicks into high gear. Rayne is sent on a top secret mission to kick some Nazi ass.

Rayne uses guns, swords, fists, feet, and much more as weapons. She is fast, furious, and doesn't shy away from blood and gore.
Blood Rayne is like Blade with The Matrix style and attitude.
That's what I love about this game. Its full of action , and the control is right on the money.
Graphically I feel Blood Rayne is good. I don't think it offers anything that will change the industry as we know it, but there's no issues visually here.
The cut scenes are nothing wild. Its just typical video game CG or polygons. Meh.

Blood Rayne is not an intelligent game, nor is it revolutionary. What it is, is fun. It's a flippin' blast to play.
If you like a lot of action in your games, and don't mind a splash of blood here and there. Blood Rayne lets you go ballistic on the enemy, and that's cool.
I wish the makers of the new Blade II game would have seen this game before releasing their game. Maybe they would have redesigned it.
I think Majesto has a BIG hit on their hands. The only obstacle is getting people to try it.
Becuase once they do, they will be hooked. I look forward to any sequel and hopefully a series. Its nice to have a game that's just packed full of action.
