CASTROL HONDA SUPERBIKE RACING

by Wyatt "JOEDOG" Elliott

Some of the best racing games in Playstation history feature Superbikes. Now Electronic Arts the makers of the legendary Moto Racer games have come out with a new Superbike racing game. Its titled Castrol Honda Superbike Racing. Obviously its sponcered by the Castrol Honda World Superbike Team. In fact its the only team you can play in the game. If you want to call a total of one bike to chose to from a team.

C&H Superbike Racing lacks what makes great racing games great. Superbike Racing offers plain and unappealing graphics. Bland colors spill out of the screen. Watching this game makes you feel flat. To make matters even worse is the music. THERE IS NO MUSIC. A racing game needs good music to keep you pumped and eager to win. The racing in the game keeps your eyes away from the screen and on your watch.

The control is less than adequate. Its suppose to mimic real superbike physics but unless you leave the default control on where it helps you steer and brake it is virtually impossible to your bike upright. The wipe outs are not half bad. The bike flies out from under you with such power it sometimes hurts to watch. Castrol Honda is analog dual shock controller compatible so you will feel the pain of your virtual counterpart.

Castrol Honda Superbike Racing includes some common features for a video game racer. Split screen for two player mode, multiple difficulty levels, 14 tracks, but only one bike and zero drivers to choose from. Castrol Honda Superbike Racing is made from the company that brought us Moto Racer 1&2, its superbike racing, and its on the Playstation. How could they possibly mess this one up? Well they did and you don't have suffer through it. Skip this one and pick up Moto Racer 1 or 2. You'll be glad you did. Castrol Honda Superbike Racing has nothing to offer.
