Sony's number one snow boarding game is back once again for another round. Cool Boarders 4 from 989 Studios once again is better then its predecessor, but still not quite perfect. How is it that they can improve upon graphics we were already satisfied with, but can still over look the continuing faulty sound. Cool Boarders 3 would have received a close to perfect review if were not for its complete lack of music. Someone must be listening, because Cool Boarders 4 has music in the game play. However, its just not that good. Sony has provided exciting tunes before in their games, so we know their not incapable of it.
Enough about the weak sound. The graphics are something to cheer about. Larger characters with better detail, and no polygon break up.
The back grounds feature less obvious pop up, then before. Plus added deep snow patches you can sink into. Cool Boarders 4 provides a good character selection plus newly added real life professional boarders.
Cool Boarders 4 uses the same basic control from CB3. The fighting feature which premiered in Cool Boarders 3 is here and in tact. However, the CPU players are so swift, your only chance to deck one of them is right out of the gate. Cool Boarders has a track record for making their CPU opponents too professional. They perform flawlessly, which makes it extremely difficult to win in a single player game.
Cool Boarders 4 now includes a 4 player option and a create a boarder feature. Style your very own character. Pretty "Cool" features.
