Most of the time when a successful movie is transformed into a video game, it loses everything that made the movie fun. So when Chicken Run was said to become a game, I expected a weak platform game at best. Instead Eidos has turned this loveable movie into a loveable game. Eidos' Chicken Run game can be called Metal Gear Solid with chickens.

In the game you play Ginger, a chicken who wishes to escape the coop. To do so, she must collect the necessary items to build her inventions of escape. However, she must accomplish all this feat undetected. If the guard dogs or the farmers spot Ginger outside her coop, it's game over.

Graphically speaking Chicken Run holds up. You feel as though you're playing the movie. The story board graphics are a little less impressive, but the voice talents are smart, funny, and very English. The control is the best. You can run, sneak, jump, and even hide. Ginger can position herself against a wall to duck the guard dogs and peek around corners.

Chicken Run is a great game for kids and adults. It's fun for the whole family. The Dreamcast edition features some crisper, cleaner graphics, but otherwise the same. If you loved Chicken Run this summer? You must run down to your local store and pick up Chicken Run for Playstation or Dreamcast.
