If you love winter sports, than this is the perfect time of year for it. but if your a wuss like me you don't want to risk breaking a leg on a mountain. So you play video games to fulfil your fantasies. Sony knows this and has come out with a their third outing of Cool Boarders. This time out the they finally got the graphics right. Sharply detailed images of freshly fallen snow just waiting to be slid down. No polygon break up either. The polygon graphics are sticking together like yellow to snow. No more annoying break up here, so the fear of falling through the gaps is no more. Cool Boarders 3 also features a lot more characters to choose from and quite a few more courses too. They did miss a major opportunity to make a good game a great game. The music. If they only had put some cool foot tapping music with a nice beat in the game it would have helped 50%. This is the number one thing game programmers miss. If your to have a great racing game of any kind it needs to have some good music to get your Adrenalin pumping. something to excite the. Something to motivate a person to want to slope down the hill multiple times. The music that Cool Boarders 3 does provide is quiet and lame. In fact there's barely any sound at all in this game. When I play I turn the sound off and play my own tunes. I shouldn't have tom, nor want to that. On a lighter note, Cool Boarders 3 has added a fighting technique to the game. Much like the video game favorite Road Rash. If you get too close to a competitor, you can slug him to get the lead. Okay, maybe its not very sportsman like, but it is fun Besides the sound and music Cool Boarders 3 is the best of the series and the best snow boarding game ever to appear on the Playstation. Which is kind of two of the same thing. It took them three try's to get it right, so I guess it is true what they say. Third times the charm.
