DINO CRISIS 2

by Jay "THE FLEA" Wade

The Jurassic Park Survivor Horror has returned in Dino Crisis 2.
You play as Regina, Dylan or David and they have entered a alternate time to uncover the secrets to the government base but finds its over run by dinosaurs. (Didn't Regina see this coming?)
Basically the same plot as Dino Crisis 1 but with a lot of weird twists.

During you battle you will switch off from different characters, each having abilities that only thay can do. (mostly who can open what door and weapons)
Dino Crisis 2 plays nothing or vary little like the first game. It feels more like a action game then a survival horror. TONS of dinosaurs that attack you that never end. Every time the camera angle changes more dinos attack. You earn points buy killing dinos, competing combos or finishing an area with out getting hurt. You use these points to buy weapons, items, ammo and tools. The lack of ammo problem was fixed from part one that's for sure.

If your expecting more puzzles you won't find too many. You collect a key item, run like hell and blast you way through a jungle, base or town and kill tons of dinos that get in your way then use the item and continue the story, switch characters and you off looking for the next key item.
There more new dinosaurs to battle in Dino Crisis 2 of all shapes and sizes.
The dinosaurs are easier to kill compared to Dino Crisis 1. Two shotgun blasts and the Raptor drops. Compared to emptying a full shotgun into the Raptor in the first crisis.

Capcom has done a great thing buy changing the format of Dino Crisis. It's doesn't feel so much like Resident Evil with dinosaurs anymore.

The graphics have improved a little and are brighter and more colorful. Dino's have all the detail and backgrounds are full of life and dingy death. There will be random Dinosaurs moving in the background at times and you wonder if they will came after you or not.

The control still needs some fine tuning, When you press the aim button it automatically aims at the closest dino instead of the one your pointing at even if its behind you and under a ledge. And again the camera angles need some work.
The changes to Dino Crisis are a welcome, and Dino Crisis can become it's own game instead of a Resident Evil with Dinosaurs. Anyone who likes action and survival games might want to give Dino Crisis 2 a try.
