Its Halloween time again. Every year at this time I get in the mood for a scare. Most horror movies do not have the sense God gave a soda cracker, which they couldn’t even scare by the way.
So I once again turn to the video game industry to put a little scare back into halloween.
PlayStation 2 has several good scares available this Halloween. There’s always the classic
Resident Evil: Code Veronica X. The creepy Silent Hill 2, and then there is Capcom’s newest masterpiece. Devil May Cry.

I don’t mean to oversell it, but I love this game. From the very start this game is just oozing with slick style and coolness.
Devil May Cry tells a story which began 2000 years ago. Deep in the pits of hell, a lone demon named Sparda, waged a one-man war against hell’s demons to save the human world from total damnation. Somehow he won this war. He was just THAT good I guess.
2000 years later after the death of Sparda, the Devil will raise once again. Unless Dante, who has demon blood in him which gives the power of the underworld can stop him first.

Dante holds a powerful sword handed down by his father to slay the evil that haunts him.
However, our friend Dante has evidently seen one too many John Woo films.
‘Cause this bad mofo, prefers the uncompared power of two fisted guns blazing.
Dante has power mastering the sword, pistols, and a shotgun! This game is a John Woo fans dream.
Graphics are so slick. I could not do them justice in word.
The backdrops look like painted masterpieces. It almost reminds me of Final Fantasy VII with Resident Evil characters.
DMC is from the creators of Resident Evil. However, it should be noted that Devil May Cry does not play exactly like Resident Evil.
Its faster, unlimited ammo, returning enemies, simpler puzzles, harder villains, and more moves which can be earned by collecting orbs.

The bad things about DMC, are the baddies keep returning on you.
I hate that. Limited continues, is a drag. Frustratingly hard bosses, but that’s about it. Keep in mind this is more of an action game than a survival horror.
Its cool, in the way the old Castlevania games are. Sure, they’re hard, but you keep playing until you get it right. Devil May Cry is the new side scroller.
Okay, Devil May Cry has awesome graphics, music, sound control, blah, blah, blah. You know this. What you want to know is how does it play? Is it hard? Is it too easy? Should I buy it? YES you should buy it, what kind of stupid question is that? In fact stop reading this review and go buy it now!!
