What do you get when you cross the Matrix with Blade? Only a hero that's cooler than hell. Dante of Devil May Cry.
Capcom's revolutionary John Woo meets Resident Evil action game of last year is back with Devil May Cry 2 for Playstation 2.
Dante has a few new surprises up his sleeve for DMC2. First of all. He can now shoot at two baddies at the same time with his two fisted gun action.
For that extra umph, you can turn into a demon to really lay on the smack down on your enemy.
Lastly, DMC2 offers a second disc with a whole new character you can play.
Lucia, a mysterious and sex femme fatale who possesses Dante's same abilities with a slightly different and unique approach.
Instead of guns, she uses blades and traditional kung-fu instaed of a badass sword.

I would tell about the story in Devil May Cry 2, but that's not what DMC is all about. Devil May Cry is about the action.
This game is a John Woo movie on acid. Dante is running up walls, flipping through the air, and all while firing his guns at demons.
He has everything that makes a badass goin'. A gun in each fist, no fear, a long coat, and a ton of attitude.
Devil May Cry is so much fun, but it does have some flaws. First of all, the camera angles are not always the best. (Just as in the first one.)
I wish they would have made the second analog stick control the camera, ala Spyro and most platformers. Instead the second analog does nothing. Hmm . . . good move.

The first Devil May Cry made us all mess our pants over its revolutionary action and game design.
DMC 2 offers little to make us re-mess ourselfves. Its more of the same.
However, I would like to take this opportunity to say, that's okay. I like the changes they made, could it have been more.
Oh hell yeah, but lets not forget the old saying. Don' t fix what ain't broke.
I would have liked to see a stronger story, and perhaps a cooperative two player mode. Think about it. You have Dante and Lucia on the same screen battling demon baddies, instead of a second disc which turns Devil May Cry into Bloodrayne.
Also, it would have nice if, lets say you played Dante up to level five, and now you want to play Lucia. Pop in disc two, load your game with her, and you continue your same game with a different character.
You go back and fourth switching between characters. Wow, this is exciting. I hope Capcom is reading this for DMC3. Because I do want one.
But, that's not the real world, so no offense to Lucia, but she's no Dante. I think I will stick with disc one, thank you.
Don't get me wrong I LOVE this game. Its one HELL of a ride with a little room for improvement.
However, its still one of the best action games you will ever play. Hell yeah!
