DUKE NUKEM: LAND OF THE BABES

by Wyatt "JOEDOG" Elliott

Our pal Duke Nukem is back. No its not the release of the LOOOONNNG awaited and long overdue Duke Nukem Forever, but a sequel to the PlayStation hit Time To Kill.
This time out Duke must travel forward in time where all men have been slaughtered by evil aliens and only beautiful super model women freedom fighters are left. Sure, it could happen.

This Duke game is an upgrade from Time To Kill. The graphics are much improved, but still lack quality as we've come to expect from any Duke Nukem game. Duke games are fun in the way a B-horror movie is fun. Its stupid, has lots of gore, and beautiful women, and hilarious humor.
Being a sequel to Time to Kill, Land of Babes plays much like Tomb Raider and features some great Lara references. Duke, you're a naughty one.

Duke Nukem games are not for everyone. In fact there's a good chance some people might offended by them. But that's okay. Because much like "Plan Nine from Outer Space" the Dukester has a cult following. And I'm afraid I'm one of them. I respect Duke for being daring. Sure his games consist of violence, gore, mild language, immature humor, sexual innuendo, and plenty of scantily clad beautiful women. So, why do I like it? Its all in fun, and the games fun. I may be damned for saying so, but I like violence in video games. I'm sorry, but this is how I feel and how it should be. The only ones getting hurt is the little piggies Duke fries in his games.

Sure Duke Nuke may have the sophistication of a 13 year old boys wet dream, but it offers what most games can not. A genuine laugh. Duke Nukem games are here to stay as long as there's a market for it, which reminds me. Does anyone know when Scary Movie 2 opens?
