One of the first games to be released for Sega's Dreamcast as Expendable, I "Contra like" shooter where you blow aliens to pieces with many styles of weapons.
Many months later, Infrogrames releases Expendable to the Playstation.
Now the DC Expendable was not the best game in the world but a descent shooter none the less.
Expendable for PSX falls flat compared to the DC version, and I'm not just saying in graphics.
The graphics are bad period. small characters, effects that show nothing and boring bland aliens and backgrounds. It's hard to see items and bonuses you find on your mission it's so small.
The Control has to be the worst feature on Expendable. It's extremely hard to move your character around to blast those boring aliens. By the time you figure out which way is straight, your blown to pieces by a boring alien. And the analog controls make's it worse.
The games follows for the most part the same as the DC version, but they really downgraded the graphics. There's SNES shooters that look better then this one.
The music and sound are dull, and most effects are blah. just like the rest of this game.
The only thing new added to the PSX Expendable is a Deathmatch Mode. Where you and another player hunt each other down and blast one another. Still intact are all the levels and weapons and cooperative arcade mode.
There's many action shooters that do a far better job; Die Hard Trilogy, MDK, Apocalypse, Loaded, Contra, and heck even the DC version of Expendable. So if your in the market for a good shooter don't make your cash expendable to buy this game.
