In the game you play as our star alumna Harry Potter in his first year at Hogwarts.
The game follows the plot of the Sorcerer's Stone, the book and the movie.
As you Muggles probably already realized, the Harry Potter game was released in conjunction with the movie to give you the full Potter experience. (Harry, not Sherman.)
You control harry in the third person roaming corridors, flying on broom sticks, and using newly acquired magic spells as you learn them.
Harry Potter isn't a game of small levels, but a game of one large level in which you beat tasks and find clues and keys to gateways and secrets beyond the imagination of any mere Muggle.
EA Games has packed this game with over twenty original characters from J.K. Rowling's world.
Including Hagrid, and his two best pals, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.
Graphically Mr. Potter is only adequate, as is his wizardry.
Its only his first year ya know, and his first game.
The game gives you free roam of the school. Explore, meet new friends, and enemies. Because remember, not all wizards are good.
The music score is excellent, some of it is right out of the motion picture. It really places you in the game.
The control is designed to be easy enough for younger players, with the exception of the lack of a jump button.
Harry jumps and climbs just by pushing forward, which can lead to unprovoked jumps at times. Nothing major to gripe about.
Harry Potter is not a great game by any means, but I think EA did the best they could within the confides of the book.
They wanted to have a game, not unlike the movie, that stayed close to the book.
Introduced us to the characters and Harry's unforgetable world.
Any Potter fan would love this game and be completely immersed in the games world.
Heck, I was involved in the game after only a few minutes of play.
Muggle or Wizard, this is a game to play if you wish to explore, experience, and wrap yourself up in the magical world and characters of J.K. Rowling's Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Much like the books and movie, Harry Potter for Playstation is a game for all ages.
Its easy enough for younger players and older players will enjoy the mysteries and puzzle solving.
If there is a valid complaint about this game it's that its too easy.
Time consuming, but too easy.
No bother, if you're a Potter fan you'll play it anyhow, so I'm preaching to the converted I'm sure.
If you are not a Potter fan already and want to experience the Potter phenomenon, I recommend reading the books, see the movie, play the game, in that order.
You may only be a Muggle, but at least you can feel like a wizard.
