If your an extreme racing fan, odds are you 've been one since childhood. Now you can relive your earliest dreams of racing to win with Hot Wheels: Turbo Racing for Playstation and Nintendo 64. Hot Wheels may be based on a children's toy line, but this game was made with everybody in mind.
Picture life size cars traveling on vast versions of your favorite Hot Wheels tracks. Loops, jumps, crashes, and all. Hot Wheels: Turbo Racing features realistic racers as well as fictional ones. Turbo Racing has a ton of cars to choose from, but not nearly enough tracks to match. So it can get boring way too early in the game.
Graphically Hot Wheels is great. Both N64 and Playstation feature high-res graphics which feature great detail. The cars and the tracks both have the look of actual toy cars and tracks. Metal wheels racing on bright yellow and orange tracks, Its very cool in a retro sort of way.
The Playstation version of this game marks the first time in gaming history to feature an actual Metalica song in the sound track. Race to the beat of Metalica, a life long dream for some. The Nintendo 64 version doesn't have quite as good of sound quality, let alone a sound track.
Controlling these Hot Wheels is fairly easy. Both versions are anolog compatible and rumble pack ready...Or dual-shock ready which ever system you choose.
Turning the Hot Wheels toy line into an action packed racing video game is an excellent idea. Turbo Racing is a good game, but does not quite live up to the Hot Wheels legend. Hot Wheels needs to be faster, more dangerous, and more available tracks. Turbo Racing is not a complete waste of time, in fact its worth a look. Perhaps a rental.
