The greatest action movie of all time is Raiders of the Lost Ark. That's not my opinion, that's a fact.
In fact number two and three of all time also happens to be Indiana Jones adventures as well. Once again, fact.
However, the Indiana Jones games have not always been so good. Well, they had a rough start anyway.
Raiders of the Lost Ark for Atari 2600 is only behind E.T. as one of the all time worst and common Atari 2600 games of all time.
Oh, add confusing to that list. The game made no sense. I still don't get it.
for colsoles we must skip ahead to the NES for the next game. This once is an arcade port of the temple of doom game. Awesome title. A lot of fun.
Next stop of Indy was the SNES. JVC made an Indiana Jones Trilogy game with the same play as the Super Star Wars games in which they also produced.
Not a bad game, but in the spirit of the Super Star Wars titels, it was EXTREMELY difficult and frustrating.
Next up was a N64 title which was only found at Blockbuster. This title came out in the N64's last days and was published by LucasArts. It was based on the hit PC title Lost City of Atlantis, and played like Tomb Raider.
It was okay. Kinda fun. The control was kinda whipped, but not a bad entry.

Okay, now you know the history of Indy. Here is the future. Lucas Arts has held nothing back for his debut on the Xbox.
Indiana Jones and the Emporer's Tomb is Good, whippin' good!
Yes, it follows the Tomb Raider format, but that's what I always wanted. An Indiana Jones game that plays like Tomb Raider and an X-Files game that plays like Resident Evil. (Which, I understand is coming out later this year from Fox)
Okay, I must explain something before we continue. The N64 Indy game, did play like Tomb Raider.
However, this new Xbox title is light years ahead of it. Not just because of the incredible graphics.
If you're an Indiana Jones fan, or have even seen his films more than once.
You know Harrison Ford's incredible underrated performance is so precise he had his own body language and fighting style.
This game captures all of that! Indy fights like every man. He's not a pro, he makes it up as he goes along.

When you get punched as Indy, you feel it. He stumbles backward, and is stunned. Its so incredibly awesome.
I kid you not, I stood up and cheered with girlish glee when I saw that.
Graphically the game is awesome. Its pure Indy magic. The cinematic scenes hold up, heck even the voice acting is decent.
The Harrison Ford impression isn't bad either. I mean, we don't buy that its actuall Mr. Ford in the recording studio, but it doesn't sound like Joe Bob doing it either.
The control is nice and smooth, no problems here. It can become a hassle switching between weapons during battles, but its to bad. Indy can pick up new weapons when an enemy drops it.
However, these are just temporary, and can not be stored in Indy's arsenal.
This is a most impressive game from Lucas Arts and any Xbox owner needs this game.
And good news for PS2 owners, it is coming out for the PlayStation 2 shortly. So keep on the look out for that.
