Lego's have been a kids best friend for many years now. Some of us have out grown them, but many of us yearn to have the time to just waste a day away building whatever your imagination may desire.
For this reason Lego has started Lego Media. A company which creates Lego based games for PC CD-ROM and console systems.
Racing fans and Lego fans alike will enjoy Lego Racers for Playstation and Nintendo 64. Its a "Kart" racer with Lego characters. What would a Lego game be with out building something. Well Lego Racers allows you to build your own Lego car. Kind of like a soap box derby. It gives you the outline for the car, and you get to build the frame anyway you see fit. Your Legoman driver is also customizable.
The game itself is not quite as inventive as the Lego itself. Its basically Mario Kart with Lego people. Its hard to find a Kart game that isn't fun and Lego Racers is no exception.
The Nintendo 64 and the Playstation versions are almost identical.
Graphics are sharp and flow nicely. The sound is average, and the control is good.
This is a game for the entire family of Lego lovers. The levels can get old, but the family fun never will.
Much like the real Lego's all Lego Media games allow the player to use their imagination. Lego racers may limit that imagination to a degree, but why have a game spoon fed to you, when you can be a part of the creative process.

All in all Lego Racers is a good game for adults, and a great one for kids. OVERALL: 7 / 7
