MAT HOFFMAN'S PRO BMX

by Wyatt "JOEDOG" Elliott

Tony Hawk is a legend in the skating world, and in the video game world. He has Activision to think for the later.
After the hugely successful Tony Hawk games on multiple platforms, naturally Activision wanted to create a franchise out of it.
Thus, Activision O2 Sports was created. A brand with a promise to be the leader in the Xgame software industry. Like Tony Hawk before him, Activision is introducing Mat Hoffman to the rest of the world.
Mat Hoffman is pro BMX rider. Therefore, the title Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX. This title is much like Tony Hawk, only with BMX bikes, instead of the skate board.

Granted, due to many delays, a couple of other BMX titles have already hit the store shelves this past year for Psone.
Dave Mirra from Acclaim, and MTV Sports Ultimate BMX from THQ. So what makes this one any better? It uses the Tony Hawk engine. Therefore, it is actually GOOD.
I had my doubts about this one myself. After the time it takes to load the first level, all my concerns went out the window. This game rocked!
It was Tony Hawk on a bike! How awesome is that? Heck, the opening level is almost a clone of Tony's.

The control is perfect. The graphics are so sweet. Mat features all the same realism Tony did.
All the real physics, the real look, and most important the realistic tumbles that impulses you to scream out loud. Ouch! Oooo! Son of A . . . I know it's only a game, but you get so into it, you'll feel it.
I was limping after playing this game for an hour. Sure, you might say it was only a leg cramp, but I think otherwise.
Like Tony Hawk, Mat Hoffman is not the only playable real life BMXer in the game. Check out Mr. Thorne, Robinson, McCoy, and others.
Technically, Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX doesn't really offer anything new the others who came out before it didn't offer. However, Activision has conquered this field. They did it two years ago with Tony Hawk. They just didn't know it then.
This engine is better, faster, slicker, and just simply cooler than anything else out there.
No one else stands a chance on PSone, and from what I saw at E3, PS2 as well.

If you are a fan of the Tony Hawk games, you have an obligation to yourself to play this game.
Of course I realize I don't have to tell YOU that.
Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX went straight to the #1 spot on the video game sales and rental charts the first week it was released.
Activision has built themselves a reputation for good Xgames, and they have not let us down. Activision O2 Sports is here to stay.
