First Capcom sells out with different versions of Street Fighter II and Resident Evil. Now Konami does it with Metal Gear Solid with a more VR Missions. Metal Gear Solid is still one of the best Playstation games EVER. And the original VR Missions in the game where awesome. Now you can play 300 new and original levels.
If you played the original Metal Gear Solid VR Missions and never cared for them then this game won't change your mind. The game looks exactly the same. If you wanted more then this game then this game is a must.
What's new? Mostly new missions. Some you use only one weapon others you have no weapons and depend on your sneaking ability. There's missions where you play as the Ninja and a new Mystery mode. These are the games two best features.
For those who never played MGS and it's VR missions, The game is more of a action puzzle game then a Action Espionage game. So if you played just the game of MGS or Syphon Filter and expect this to be missions where you blow away tons of bad guys and fight huge bosses you might be a little disappointed. But this game is vary addicting. Playing over and over again figuring out how to pass a guard with out getting caught or trying to kill all the enemies in one minute with them seeing you. This game can get really frustrating at many times.
Also added are little extras you earn when you beat missions. Extra Movies and a mode where you take pictures of Mei Ling in different ways. The Mei Ling Photo shoots are truly pointless, but still a nice feature.
My complaint about the game is they didn't add any thing new (with the exception of the Mei Ling Photo shoots) Like new characters, weapons, abilities. Yes the Ninja playable is great but he's only in fifteen missions. You can't play him in any other modes or missions.
Metal Gear Solid is a great fun game, but it's nothing but a move levels for the VR Missions. If your a huge Metal Gear Solid fan and can't wait for Metal Gear 4 then this might satisfy you for a little while longer.
