The Men In Black game has finally arrived on the PlayStation One.
Its not based on the 1997 movie starring Wil Smith and Tommy Lee Jones nor is it based on the sequel coming out next summer.
Instead its based on the animated series on the WB.
Well that's understandable, at least its half way current.
Its new title, Men In Black The Series: Crash Down, and it now sells for an affordable 14.95 SRP. MIB Crash Down is a first person shooter, a first for the 9.99-14.99 price range on a new game.
I'll be honest with you, most games designed for this price range are weak at best.
With that been said, MIB is actually quite good.
Not good compared to other PSone first person shooters as Medal of Honor, Doom, Quake II, or even World is not Enough.
Good in the aspect that its actually quite playable.
The graphics are nothing dance naked in the streets about, but the control isn't horrid, and the it is challenging. To a point.

You don't have to be a fan of the Men In Black to enjoy this game either, in fact if you are a die hard fan, I would think twice about playing this game.
In the game you play as either Jay or Kay, depending on the level, trying to destroy evil aliens who have landed on earth. Just another day in the lives of the MIB.
Sorry guys, no multi-player feature in this game. You'll just have to stick to your fantasies on who would win a fight between Jay and Kay.

The game does offer multiple weapons, but you don't get to keep your newly acquired weapon from level to level, I hate that.
Graphically, Men In Black reminds me the earliest first person shooters on the psx.
Think of Powerslave, PO'ed, and Hexen and you'll have MIB with weaker weapons and foes.
As someone who has never seen the Men In Black series on WB, I must say the Jay’s character voice is hideously annoying.
If he's like that on the series, I think Wil should sue somebody.
At least put on his Ali persona and beat the living crap out of his cartoon alter ego.
Sorry, if you played the game, you'll know what I mean.

Anyway, back to the game.
Men In Black is not perfect. In fact, its far from it.
However, for only 14.95 SRP, I would not only buy it, but play it.
I love the first person shooter when its done right.
If nothing else, its better than ARMORINES. Enough said.
