For you die hard NASCAR fans who have worn out your copy of NASCAR '99 for Playstation. EA Sports has a gift for those of you who can not wait for NASCAR 2000. NASCAR '99 Legacy which has been released exclusively through Wal- Mart discount stores is an update to NASCAR '99 from last year.
Much like the Collectors Edition of NASCAR '98, Legacy offers slight changes from its predecessor. Most obvious is the edition of Dale Earnhadt Jr., and the Miami Homestead Speedway. The opening has changed as well, with the "I'm faster than you, and I can prove it" challenge as told through the Legacy of NASCAR.
The final added feature to NASCAR Legacy is the bonus music CD NASCAR Rocks. NASCAR Rocks features a sample of tunes inspired by NASCAR. That maybe all that is new to the game, but the rest is NASCAR '99 which is a fantastic game unto itself.
High resolution graphics enhance the realism to the game. Announcers that not only call the game as they see it, but inform you on NASCAR history and facts as you race for glory.
NASCAR '99 doesn't have as much rock'n tunes to pump you up as the '98 edition did. However the sounds are still cool, and will keep you motivated. NASCAR '99's control is on target, a little touchy at 200 MPH but that's to be expected. You can configure your NASCAR Race to be as realistic or as arcade as you want. With the damage turned on your stock car can fall apart right before your eyes. NASCAR '99 provides a true NASCAR experience. 37 cars to choose from, 18 official NASCAR tracks, 2 player split screen mode, and the ability to have up to 24 high-res cars on the track at once. Pretty slick.
NASCAR '99 Legacy may only have minor additions from NASCAR '99, but its worth a look if your a NASCAR fanatic. For those of you who didn't get a chance to own the original, NASCAR '99 Legacy is the way to go. You get all the NASCAR '99 action plus some.
