Welcome back to the nightmare. No Freddy hasn't come back, but Nightmare Creatures has.
Konami has taken over publishing rights but its originator Kalisto is back to scare us into playing more. Nightmare Creatures 2 is set 100 years after the original. No longer is there a choice of two characters to play. NC2 offers one rouge hero, an ex-scientist out for revenge and to set what he made wrong right.
just as the original, this Nightmare can be found on two console systems. The Sony Playstation (of course)and gone are the days of the N64 Nightmare in favor of the Dreamcast.
Graphically Nightmare is dream. On Playstation you will find Resident Evil quality graphics. The Dreamcast of course features smoother more colorful graphics, but who knew the sound quality could be so much better. Dreamcast offers total 3D stereo surround sound, its bone chilling.
Nightmare Creatures 2 again carries the M (mature) rating, but it should be noted that this time out the blood and the violence is enhanced just as much as the graphics.

Nightmare Creatures 2 could have been the perfect video game horror, except the control still struggles to like the original. The original Nightmare Creatures was held back by its horrible control and repetitiveness. NC2 does keep you involved despite the often repetitive action, and the control is not quite a nightmare the original was.
Nightmare Creatures 2 is definitely worth playing on PSX and Dreamcast. This will be THE Halloween game for adults this year.OVERALL: 8 / 8.5
