NFL 2K

Graphics are not everything in a game. A statement that becomes harder and harder to believe in with the new Sega Dreamcast. Sega, was known for their excellent sports titles back in the days of the 16-bit Sega Genesis. Some how Sega lost its way with the Sega Saturn 32-bit system. Now in the 128-bit age, Sega Sports is back and stronger then ever. NFL 2K, the first major sport title from Sega.

NFL 2K's graphics are just beautiful. The most realistic football sim you have ever laid eyes on. These players are huge. They walk, run and tackle like the real deal. This game looks and plays like your watching an actual NFL broadcast.

Sega has found a way to have awesome graphics with a terrific presentation. Sega's dual announcers are entertaining, witty, and make knocks at one another. They also make Football easy to understand for those who may not be die hard fans of the game. NFL 2K controls well too. Awesome controls only enhances this game.

If you have to pick NFL 2K apart you might notice some faults. Perhaps the freeze frames of the sideliner's in the background. The way the field looks more like linoleum, then astro turf. These and other improvements are all awaiting us down the road. Afterall, this is just a first generation Dreamcast game. Think of how far the Playstation has come from the original Game Day and Game Day 2000.

The Sega Dreamcast is like fine wine, and will only get better in time. Its unfair to say that NFL 2K is the best football game out there. To compare NFL 2K with Madden 2000 is like comparing a Ford Taurus to a Dodge Viper. It can't be done, but you can sure enjoy leaving the Taurus in the dust in the process.
