Resident Evil redefined games back in 1995 for PlayStation one.
Even as I was playing it, I knew games as I knew them would never be the same. However, little did we know that much like Star Wars, there was a story to be told of what happened before the mansion.
Capcom remade the original classic for Nintendo Gamecube earlier this year. Turning a masterpiece into a work of art.
Now their rewriting history, by telling us the back story, laying out for us why the events happened the way they did and why.
Keeping the graphics in the same style as the RE remake, Resident Evil Zero (clever, huh?) Invites us into the mansion again seeing how Rebecca got to where she did in the first game.
It also introduces us to Billy, an escaped con who was being transported to his execution when his ride was attacked by zombie dogs. (Don't you hate when that happens?)

The graphics are simply amazing. Its hard to believe this was once a Nintendo 64 game. (bet'cha didn't know that, huh?)
In case you haven't seen or played the Resident Evil remake. Picture the masion looking a lot darker than before, with creepier lighting.
The lighting effects are so spectacular, it looks like David Fincher directed it. (which by the way would have been way cooler for the RE movie. )
Some may say the Resident Evil series has run its course and should be laid to rest.
However, the Resident Evil series still offers some of the best scares and story line then any other survival horror.
Capcom keeps coming up with twists and angles to get us to buy the same game over and over again.
That's okay though. The Resident Evil series is just as much fun to play the 33rd time as it is the 3rd time.
There's always something new to explore around the next zombie filled corner.

Resident Evil gave birth to the survival horror genre, but its still as exciting as the first one.
Resident Evil Zero is the fifth in the series, the sixth if you count Resident Evil Survivor, second for the Gamecube, and the first in chronological order of the series.
FYI, Capcom plans to rerelease Resident's 2 and 3 on Gamecube as well.
However, it looks as though they will not be reinvisioned like part one and zero was, but sharper versions of the Psone titles as they were on the Dreamcast.
Not a bad idea, but would have been more excited if it were Resident Evil 2: Redux. Oh well. I know, I'll buy them anyway.
