A first person Resident Evil game...It sounded like a great idea at the time. I bet that's what Capcom said to them self after making Resident Evil Survivor.
The game is like this, you move around like a first person shooter but you hold R1 and use a targeting system like a lightgun game with out a lightgun. Then shoot zombies.
This was the first of flew mistakes Capcom made, They cut the use of the lightgun because of the shootings in our schools. There's also vary little blood. Most of the creatures bleed green and the Zombies a vary light red almost pink. (I hope this doesn't follow into the future RE games)
The second biggest mistake is graphics. The graphics in RE1 was better. The characters are blocky and have horrible break-up. There's also vary little detail. Zombies heads should explode after shooting them in the head with a shotgun. not jerk to the ground.
There's really nothing new in this game to see. Everything is borrowed from RE 1 & 2.
The only thing new is the SWAT Gorillas and the final Tyrant, he was pretty cool.
There's no puzzles to solve but you do have many key items you'll need to find.
The story is really nothing, you play as a guy who doesn't remember who he was and he finds two kids who help him escape and figure out who he is. that's pretty much the basic story.
The sound is terrible. They all sound like they are talking though a drain pipe.
Another problem is there's no save points in the game. If you die you can save what weapons you've found, but you'll have to start all the way at the beginning. all though RE:S only takes about one-two hours to finish.
There's is a good amount of replay for RE:S due to its many paths you can take. To see everything the game has you have to at least play three times if not more.

You wont have to worry about running out of ammo for your pistol due to you start out with infinite ammo. But on the special weapons you do have to pick up ammo and they will run dry.
Overall RE:S is a fun shooter, it just doesn't hold up to the rest of the Resident Evil series.OVERALL: 7
