RUGRATS: STUDIO TOUR

by Jay "THE FLEA" Wade

The Rugrats return the Playstation but this time they are lost in a movie studio. You play as all your favorite Rugrat characters, Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, and of course Angelica and they are searching for lost keys to get Tommy's Little brother "Dil" out of a locked studio set. You'll search on sets of westrens, Sci-Fi's, Pirates, Adventure, Racing, Horror, and other Movie theme's. (many spoofing real movies)
The games are from all sorts of styles of games, Platform, Shooter, Golf and Kart Racing. Up to four players can play most all of the games.

While this is a plus for Rugrats ST, there's a lot of things that can make you soil your diapies. The Graphics are pretty much like the first Rugrats, vary choppy animation, break up, stiff movement, and at times you'll see the same animations with different skins. The Control is the worst feature on this game. from camera angles, delayed buttons, to the characters falling off edges because you can't tell where the platform is.
The control is the only real thing that makes this game challenging. It's extremely easy. There's vary little enemies on any kind, mostly it's beat the clock and win.

The only game style that was enjoyable to play was the Miniture Golf games. The rest are almost a chour to play. If THQ comes out with a Rugrats Miniture Golf game, maybe they have something.
Rugrats Studio Tour is aimed at younger game players, but THQ doesn't give kids credit. I've seen five year olds master the first Crash Bandicoot, and that was a hard game on many levels.

All because a game is made for kids doesn't mean they can slack off on graphics, control, or semi- challenging gameplay. Kids will want this game on the name alone, and after playing it go back to Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, CTR, or Croc.
Unless your a Diehard Rugrats fan, Rugrats Studio Tour should be left in the crib.
