I've seen a lot of scary and weird games, but this one really pushes both.
You play as Shadowman and he's out to stop killers from hell to destroy the world.
Shadowman explores the real world and the land of the dead.
In his quest he collects weapons, shadow spirits and human hearts.
You explore weird Voodoo looking worlds that at times can be vary frustrating And fight creatures that are strange to really freaky.
Most of Shadowman is exploration, collecting items and shoot weird creatures.
You also can warp (using an old Teddy bear) to any area in the game you opened.
I'd have to say this is the most horrifying game played on the Nintendo 64. Just not the most ever.
Also it has the most adult language ever heard on the Nintendo 64.
Shadowman has a great idea, but it also has a lot of problems.
While the graphics are done vary well, it does have some problems with character and the mapping texture.
Also annoying is every time you leave an area and then return all the creatures you killed are returned.
But the biggest complaint is the control. You'll miss platforms and get killed due to the slow action buttons and lose control.
Another problem is the camera angles, sometimes you can't see what your shooting at or a platform because Shadowman's body is in the way.
But if you use the "look and target" button then you won't find this to much of a problem.
Overall Shadowman is worth playing even with it's problems. You just have to have a lot of patience with the re-killing the dead over and over and the bad control.
