There was a time when Take Two interactive and Rockstar games were considered an underdog game company. They seemed to come out of nowhere and didn't have any titles worth writing home about.
Then came a little title called Grand Theft Auto. It was daring, original and extremely fun to play.
The graphics weren't much, but that wasn't an issue.
It was a massive hit. It was followed by only mediocre sequels and titles.
Then came the partnership with G.O.D. (Gathering Of Developers) games and the PlayStation 2.
Rockstar has made a BIG name for itself. With such awesome titles as Grand Theft Auto III, Max Payne, and State Of Emergency.
Rockstar is taking us gamers on the ride of our dreams.

State Of Emergency is the latest title to blow me away as well as the competition.
Okay, the concept of State of Emergency is . . . well . . . it puts you in the middle of a riot.
That's right. A riot at the mall, china town, downtown, whatever.
It's a riot. Smash things, kill gangs, blow up stuff for points. Sound barbaric? You bet your @$$ it is. That's why its fun, man.
Okay, maybe its fun for a while, but chaos can get boring after a while. No problem. There is a story mode.
You play as a rookie member of a radical rebellion against the Corporation, a conglomerate company running everything from our country to our lives.

Much like Grand Theft Auto you are sent on various missions against the Corporation.
Actually, State Of Emergency is much like Grand Theft Auto in many ways. You can either
play the missions and actually accomplish something. Or you play just for fun and cause a lot of havoc in little bit of time.
The most amazing thing going on in State Of Emergency is everything. There is so much happening on the screen at one moment then in any other game I've ever played.
There is a constant crowd of people running around you all the time. You can at anytime stop any of them with a punch, a kick, or even a gun shot to the face. Oh, yes. Did I forget to mention this game was kinda on the violent side?
Well it is. However, if blowing a strangers head off with a shotgun isn't your cup of tea, No problem You can turn down the violence in the options menu.

Rockstar Games is a company worthy of our greatest admiration.
Not for making violent games. No, I'm not that two dimensional, but for its willingness to take chances.
And sometimes taking chances means making a few violent games.
However if the violence is featured in a truly revolutionary game. So be it.
GTA3, Max Payne, and State of Emergency are all very original games.
With these three plus the newly acquired license of the Duke Nukem series and the awesome Serious Sam.
Rockstar is the game company of the new millennium. I look forward to anything these guys want to offer me.
If you really like games, you should to.
