After Gran Turismo was a big hit, copy cats are sure to follow. Sports Car GT is the 1st Gran Turismo style race simulator competitor to come out. How does it stack up to Gran Turismo?
Compared to Gran Turismo this game has NOTHING to offer. The graphics look horrible. They look washed out and vary bland with vary little detail. Some of the cars are awesome cars. But this game makes them look like junk. Gran Turismo NFS 3-4 & Test Drive 4-5 do much better jobs on the cars then this game ever could. It has features like Gran Turismo; upgrading the car with new tires, shocks engines and other stuff, it also has a Season and Arcade modes.
In Season you have vary little money and start out with a cheap car. Then win races to earn more money to buy upgrade and new cars. (Gee this sounds familiar) It claims to have 40 cars available but from what I can tell they are mostly the same cars just upgraded versions. The control wasn't to bad. I was able to keep it on the road, but a lot of the cars where vary stiff. I also found this game to slow. It says I'm going over 150 mph but it looks like I'm doing 60.
If you going to buy a racing simulator buy Gran Turismo, If you already beat Gran Turismo and want to play another game like it. Well you could rent Sports Car GT but personally I'd just play Gran Turismo over again.
