One of the hottest war simulators has finally come to a console system.....Nintendo 64???
Yes, hard to believe Star Craft is only on N64, a system not known for war simulator games.
In Star Craft you control armies of humans, intelligent aliens or monster aliens in a all out war to take control of the universe. You'll have soldiers, tanks, ships, you name it. then click and point to where you want your army to attack. You'll also have bases where you create more soldiers, weapons, research new technologies for weapons and armor, and mine minerals to create new stuff. Every thing that made Star Craft great holds up in the N64 version. (Except the online multiplayer of course.) Great graphics, large maps, tons of weapons to create and enough missions to keep you going for a long time.
If your looking for a challenge, Star Craft is for you. At times you'll be building a army and a gigantic horde of enemies come and wipe you out. And you won't see them coming. You can only see as far as where you have your army. If its out of your characters site, you won't see the enemy coming before it's to late. At times it seems like the computer plays cheap, by making their bases unpenatrable. You get to the enemies base and its got everything known to man guarding its base. You'll lose half your army taking out one bunker.
The game does have a built in save feature, and you can save in the middle of any mission.
Some missions seem to take hours to finish, especially if the enemy creates a huge army.

There's great multiplayer action, two players and choose their species and players can kill each other in a blood bath. You each can build an army and see who can destroy which species first.
The control can take a little getting used to, but will be picked up in no time flat.
But sometimes the characters get lost with buildings and other objects, you lose where they are and it can be tough to click on the soldier or the building.
Star Craft 64 is definitely one of the top ten Nintendo 64 games. And is a must have for any one who owns a N64 and loves War simulators.OVERALL: 9.5
