STAR OCEAN: THE SECOND STORY

by REDEEMER

A man from earth is lost on a far away world in the middle of a vast Star Ocean. This is the premise of the new RPG "Star Ocean: the Second Story". It's vary different from most any other RPG. Unlike most RPG's in Star Ocean you can choose from two different characters to be the main hero at the beginning of the game. (Claude or Rena) they both have their own story they follow so once you finish this RPG with Claude as the main hero, you might want to return and beat it with Rena.

One thing I'll give this game is replay. There's 80+ endings to this game. (No I haven't seen them all) But from what I hear they are mostly at same basic ending with minor changes or missing parts (due to you missed something). The Graphic are pretty solid, The background are done vary well. But the characters you play look like fat midgets. There's also several characters you discover along the way to help you in your journey.

The story in this Star Ocean isn't all that great but it holds up. basically a meteor falls to the planet and all chaos breaks out, and a earth boy is lost on this unknown world and the people think he's there to save their planet. My biggest complaint about this game is the sound. Uggghhhh The characters voices are all annoying and sound like they where sucking helium all day. And for some crazy reason they added a voice player to replay all the voice's you hear in your journey. All and all this game is a worth while RPG. Not a top ten but a worth while RPG.
