I've always been a Star Wars fan and look forward to any game with the Star Wars name. When I heard about Star Wars Episode I Jedi Power Battles, I arcade action fighter where you play as many Jedi's from the movie. I felt I had to try this game.
In the game you play as Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon Jinn, Ali Gallia. Plo Koon and of course the big and bad Mace Windu. (Which one is Mace Windu? He's the one with the Lightsabar that says mother ....."Shut your Mouth!" I'm just talking about Mace!) There's also some Hidden characters, three that's known of including Darth Maul. (yippee) but without his dual Lightsaber. (D'oh!)
I was hoping there would be some classic secret characters to play in the Episode I world. But no luck :( There's 10 levels that follow the movie and 4 secret levels. (mini-games of sorts) The gameplay and graphics are almost similar to Phantom Menace, you walk around destroying Battle Droids and confront huge bosses. (some are extremely hard to beat)
Added are combo's and Force moves, each Jedi has their own unique Force power, Special items & combos. Most Combo's have to be learned by beating a levels and gaining points. You also have to learn how to reflect laser bolts. (there's many flying enemies that this is the only way to destroy them.)
Graphicly SW:JPB isn't anything great. and the control can be a little stiff at times.
But the overall fun and action does make SW:JPB worth a look see.
You and a friend against twenty or more Battle Droids of all kinds, Destroyer Droids and few cowardly Gungans. (sorry you can't slaughter Jar-Jar Binks)
If your a Star Wars fan and want to destroy many droids as a Jedi then this game is for you.
If your not a big Star Wars fan, you'll most likely find the game a bit repetitive and get tired of killing hundreds of droids. May the Force be with you.
