Acclaim' s Jeremy Mcgrath Supercross series has never really stood out as being an extraordinary game.
However, I would have never named it one of the worst either. It was slightly above average.
Now, with the absence of Mr. Mcgrath, some how its managed to get worse.
How worse? This has to be one of the worst supercross games in history.
SX Superstar is on the most powerful system on the market today. Yet it runs like an old broken down
Atari Jaguar.
The games music is turned up so loud you can' t hear any of the sound effects.
I turned down the music volume in the game and found out why. The sound effects are truly horrid.
The engines sound like honey bees in a jar. The graphics look washed out. It looks like the contrast is turned
way up. The levels are out of control bad. I'm all for no boundary in a game, but in a racing game its hard to tell where the track begins and where it ends.
The arrow you follow isn't even sure where you are to go half the time. Makes for a really confusing race.
I find myself back tracking for check points that I missed. The tricks are boring and the wipe outs are so dull,
I don't think I'd even wake up if I had one. I don't know exactly what went wrong here.
Acclaim makes two of the best racers around. Burnout and Speed Kings, and Even their BMX games
are awesome. Some how this game was trashed. It feels rushed and made without any care at all. I Dunno why they
even put it out. It made it on Box and Gamecube, I guess PlayStation has standards.
There is no excuse for making a game this poorly, unless you're making a budget title for ten bucks.
SX Superstar feels like a rushed piece of cap. that no one cared about behind the scenes and the players
will feel even less about in front of the screen. Don't bother with this one. Even a rental is a waste of time.
SX Superstar is not a superstar at all. It feels more like a washed up "Dickie Roberts" star.
Heck, even Dustin Diamond wouldn't touch this game. I know I'm being mean, but this game sucks.
My mama always said, "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."
Okay, I can't find something nice to say about this game, so how about something clever.
SX Superstar is so bed , I think the SX stands for SUX.
