After beating Metal Gear Solid several times I had to try Syphon Filter. Does it stack up to Metal Gear Solid? All thou Syphon Filter is a great game I'd have to say no, but not by much. Syphon Filter barrows from many games, it's like a joke. What do you get if you combined Metal Gear Solid, Mission Impossible, MDK, Zelda 64, Duke Nukem Time to Kill into one game? Many levels are like MGS where you sneak around and take head shots with your sniper rifle and try not to get noticed. Others are like MDK where you just run around and shoot any thing that moves. This game is level based (20 levels to be exact) with bosses that sometimes can be a challenge. (mostly you just shoot them till they die) But Sy-Fi does offer some challenging levels and puzzles. The story is not half bad about a group of terrorists creating a virus called Syphon Filter and it can't be cured. You play as the Agent Game Logan to stop the virus from spreading. The FMV that pull this story along could have been better. I fell they tried to be like MGS but it looks real fake. My biggest complaint? The control. It's i bit loose and if you use the target system and try to run and shoot you really get messed up. Overall this game is worth looking at. Sy-Fi has enough action, stealth and puzzles to keep you playing till the vary end and more.
