TEST DRIVE: EVE OF DESTRUCTION

by Wyatt "JOEDOG" Elliott

Ever go to the local destruction derby? Ya know the one. Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!
Total destruction, smash, crash, and bash! Bring the kids for school bus and trailer races!
Kids under 12 are half price! Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!!

Now admit it. You wish you could be one of those mullet wearing drivers for one day. Be able to
smash cars for a living? I mean, its every testosterone’s dream. What is it about seeing things get
totally destroyed that just makes a man’s balls grow larger?

Atari’s Test Drive line has finally brought all the wreckage normally confined to the local
speedway into your livingroom Screen! Check out Test Drive: Eve of Destruction for Xbox and
PlayStation 2. Yes, they’ve had destruction derby games before. But never has there been a game
featuring the modes of the small town speedway. School Bus racing is IN this game. Trailer races,
IS in this game. The Gauntlet, Push off, backwards, destruction, all of the mayhem is IN this game.

And oh my word, does it look good. The game seems slow at first compared to games like
Burnout. Well, these cars don’t have Turbo boost, and don’t go a million miles an hour either.
This is all real, man.

Liek I said, the graphics are pretty darn good. And honestly, they aren’t in the league of a
Burnout 3 or a Gran Turismo. And guess what, they ain’t supposed to be. Now, does the
destruction make you bellow ooo’s, ahhh’s, and ouch’s? Hell yes it does. This game with have
you screamin’ profanities like a crazy person. This is the best party game for the redneck in all of us.

If you have a really good wreck, its worth the time to watch the replays. It offers you a ton of
views and modes. It’s a whole lotta fun, and provides a lot of good laughs and gasps.

So, what I thought was gonna be another Destruction Derby, Totaled, or Demolition Racer, is a
whole new brand of game. If you like games like those, or just going to the local speedway. You
have to play this game. Just play it with a group. Its SO much more fun when you have an audience.
