If you've done all you can with NASCAR '99 and still want some more awesome stock car racing action, might I suggest TOCA. I didn't think I'd like this game after playing its demo. It looked and played choppy. What a difference the real deal makes. TOCA Championship Racing Is a grand competitor to the NASCAR series. In fact it makes an excellent companion piece. TOCA Racing is hard edge grab onto something for dear life Adrenalin rush. These cars are assembled from the worlds leading manufactures, Ford, Nissan, Hundai, Audi, ect. TOCA Racing has spared nothing, these cars fall to pieces when the wipe out. I haven't one quit on me yet as in NASCAR, but I've driven without doors, hood, and bumper. The cars in TOCA do seem to skid and spin out of control a lot. TOCA features an advanced AI which allows all the CPU controlled cars to perform just like their real life touring car counter part. one thing that can really damage a games performance in my book is the music. If a games music can't keep that old Adrenalin pumping than the games no good. TOCA Racing does not have the best music I've heard in a racing game, that title still goes to NASCAR '98, but it does hold its own. The control TOCA Racing provides to its dedicated racers is good. Could have been better. The analog Dual-Shock controller does provide more help than just bumps and grinds. TOCA Championship Racing eight European race tracks, eight different powerful race cars, some of which must be earned first before they can be enjoyed. I urge you to give this one a chance. Its not a major title which gets a lot of hype and you've probably passed it over assuming it was bad as did I.
