All hail the master. Sir Tony Hawk is back and he has hit a devastating blow to the industry once again.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 for PS2 and Game Cube is the best I've ever seen.
This is as good as it gets. The guys at Neversoft dedicated the last year to this game, and boy does it show.
Neversoft did not make the sequel to Spider-man, nor did they make the PSone Tony Hawk 3.
All of their effort was put into this title. Now we receive the benefits. Tony Hawk 3 offers the crispest of crisp high resolution graphics.
Playstation 2 - GameCube - Playstation
To say that Tony Hawk is just more of the same, is not a true statement at all. Period.
Tony Hawk 3 revolutionizes the the genre he created. Tony Hawk 3 is more than just better graphics, its faster. Tony Hawk 3 performs extreme tricks at extreme speeds. Its almost blinding. The physics seem so much more realistic at this new intense speed.
The Game Cube and PlayStation 2 versions are identical with the exception that any true Hawk fan will notice.
The control is better on the PlayStation 2. Why? Because the controller is the same as the PSone. Just pick up and play.
I was practically an expert at this game from day one. It was great. I didn't have to re learn where everything was. Unlike the Game Cube. This is not a slam at the Game Cube, ‘cause the control is good on it. It just takes some adjusting is all.

Tony Hawk 3 features a slew of skaters as always. Plus a nice stash of hidden characters including the Neversoft Eye. (Which has the worst stats possible) Ollie the bum, Officer Dick, Wolverine, from X-Men, and Darth Maul from Star Wars Episode I. YES, its true the Maul is in it. He kicks ass too.
He's on a hover board and comes complete with his double bladed light saber. Oh yes. Its quite weird seeing Darth maul perform these Skate Board tricks. It gives a whole new image of the Sith training where Darth Maul got all those fancy moves. Hmmmm, so does Darth Vader know a trick or too?????
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 is the best skate boarding game to date. No, scratch that. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 is the best extreme sports title PERIOD.
Playstation 2 - GameCube - Playstation
It was just announced that Activision is indeed working on a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4. (DUH)
What can they possibly do to top themselves? I cannot imagine. But I look forward to being astonished yet once again.
For you Xbox owners who were mad about only Getting Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2x, it looks as though Activision is gonna release Tony Hawk 3 on the Xbox later this year. So maybe Xbox owners will be the overall winners.
On the other hand, PlayStation 2 will probably have Tony Hawk 4 by then, so.
As I mentioned earlier Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 for the PSone is not made by the guys at Neversoft.
Not to worry, its been left in half way capable hands. The guys who ripped off Tony Hawk the best on the PSone was Shaba Games, who made Grind Session for Sony.
They have taken that same experience and has turned out a good Tony Hawk 3. Obviously it was over seen by the guys at NeverSoft.
It follows the same concept ajnd levels as the PS2 and Game Cube versions, but of course, not quite as slick. In fact for the PSone. Its not even the best of the series.
That Honor still goes to Tony Hawk 2. But Tony Hawk 3 is still an awesome PSone game worthy of the name Tony Hawk. As does the PS2 and Game Cube. They have not ruined the Tony Hawk name yet. Knock on wood.
