by Wyatt "JOEDOG" Elliott

Baseball is full of traditions. The All-Star game, Cracker Jacks, and EA Sports Triple Play video game. The latest in the long running series is Triple Play 2001 for Playstation. Sorry N64 gamers, You'll have to continue to enjoy Triple Play 2000.
EA Sports has stuffed even more features into Triple Play 2001. Try the home run legends, play as the Babe him self. The rosters are updated as of January 2000. And the graphics are yet even better then before.

TP 2001 introduces high resolution graphics to the series. The colors are enhanced, but the polygons are still rough around the edges. A Playstation trade mark we've grown to love. Triple Play's legendary EA Sports announcers are still at play. Back are they're witty commentary and baseball facts.
The sound effects are right out of the ball park. Crowd chants, vender calls, and the personalized player music. The over the top sound of thunder when a homer is hit will make you stand up and cheer.

Triple Play 2001 plays basically the same as it has since 1996, with a few minor changes. For those who have never played a Triple Play game before. Let it be known that anyone can pick up a controller and play like a pro. Its incredibly simple.
Triple Play 2001 features season play, exhibition, home run derby, the all new Home run legends, and the all new Extreme target contest. Try to hit as many targets as possible with a bat and a ball. Each hit is measured by speed and power. The one who racks up the most points wins!

Triple Play 2001 has been criticized for being arcade Baseball game and not the simulator it should be. Triple Play may not sweat the details, but you'll never have more fun playing a baseball video game.
