TOMB RAIDER: THE LAST REVELATION

by Jay "THE FLEA" Wade

Lara Croft has returned the a Sega console, Her last adventure with Sega was the first Tomb Raider on Sega Saturn. Sense then Playstation has own the rights to her on any console system. This is also the first time Lara Croft has gone beyond 32-bit.

If you played the Playstation version of Tomb Raider:TLR you won't really find nothing new besides the graphics. The only thing different in the levels is the first two training levels have new traps to kill Lara and few added items here and there, that's really it.

The graphics are the best ever seen in a Tomb Raider game. Beautiful back drops and lighting really are a huge improvement from the PSX version.
Even Lara Croft looks better then ever before. One of thing that really improves in the level break-up, It's gone! Yes, the levels are solid and it's easier to find weapons and items due to they don't blend into the background as the PSX version does.
Also other small details have been added in this adventure, Lara Drips water after swimming, great shadow effects and smoking guns.
The Character animations sill are blocky and jerky (besides Lara) they improve every thing else but this.

The sound also improved, You can practicality hear every bone break in Lara's body as she slams into the rocky ground as she misses a ledge.
The biggest draw back in the DC version of TR:TLR, is the control. DC has fewer buttons then PSX so at times you find it a pain maneuvering Lara into the right spot. The PSX control wasn't the best and this small drawback but it doesn't ruin the whole game.

If you going to buy Tomb Raider TLR and own both PSX and DC, I highly suggest the DC version. If you already played the PSX version and thinking of buying it for your DC, Unless you want to play the same game over again but with a lot better graphics, I'd hold on to your money.
