I've been playing a lot of golf games lately. Naturally some have been better than others, but I've never played a Nintendo 64 golf game. Because there wasn't one until now. Nintendo may be known for their sports games. Lately some of the best titles have been on Nintendo 64. This one is not one of them. First of all this game features one of the worst titles I have ever come across. Waialae features only okay graphics. The players are dull, the backgrounds are flat. and the sounds terrible. On the bright side Waialae's courses does feature an audience. Once you get a closer look however these onlookers are flat and fake looking. They look like card board cut outs, and so do the trees. I've never seen such a lame attempt at detail. The games courses revolve around to show you the complete course. This animation is choppy and bleak. The colors are nice and bright, but virtually no depth or detail was included in these courses. The sounds are not just awful, their totally inappropriate. The announcer sounds like a bad robot impression, who by the way has nothing interesting to say. The music in this game is fast and perky. I don't want fast and perky music in my golf game. Golf is a game of concentration, somebody needs to tell Nintendo that. This music belongs in a Mario game or something. The control is the same basic standard golf video game control you'd come to expect. Waialae country club golf is a pathetic first attempt on a golf game. The lame childish game design Nintendo is known for is in full effect here. Its inappropriate, immature, and lame.
